Rhamondre Stevenson Might Be Ready For A Starring Role - What Fantasy Lessons We Learned After Week 6
*The following is based off 4-point passing TDs and 0.5 points per reception.
Quarterbacks
Joe Burrow 300 passing yards 3 TDs 0 INTs 4 carries 25 rushing yards 1 TD good for 32.50 points and QB1 on the week. But this was a little unfair. He had the extra motivation going back to Louisiana, where he is worshiped for his LSU national title season after transferring from Ohio State. Burrow is now QB5 on the year and a firm QB1/must start in all league formats.
Don't look now, but Justin Fields is trending up. This was his second straight week of 17+ points as he had190 passing yards 1 TD 1 INT 12 carries for 88 yards. If he can run the ball with that type of output, his passing numbers won't be a big deal and he'll have a safe floor. He just needs 1 TD/game and he'll be a safe QB2.
Matthew Stafford stinks. He finished with 253 passing yards, 1 TD and 1 INT and 11.82 fantasy points. It was his 6th straight game below 19 fantasy points this season and his 5th game this season below 12 points. He is QB24 and his replacement Left Tackle just got hurt and is out for the year. Things are not looking good in La La land.
Runningbacks
Rhamondre Stevenson RB1 19 carries 76 yards 2 TDs 4 catches for 15 yards which was 23.10 points and good for RB1 on the week. With Damien Harris' injury, Stevenson steps out of a timeshare and into a single family home. He is thriving and he is actually RB11 on the year, just two points behind Dalvin Cook.
Do it all Christian McCaffrey is BACK! 13 carries for 69 yards 7 catches for 89 yards RB3 in Week 6 and he's also RB3 on the year. In his last three weeks, CMC is averaging 20.16 points, but the worry about him has always been health. But if he's healthy, he's a lock top 5 fantasy RB.
Kenneth Walker III seems legit. 21 carries for 97 yards and 1 TD with 2 catches for 13 yards to go along with it for 18.0 fantasy poitns. RB8 on the week is firmly trending up and has RB1 upside moving forward with Rashaad Penny done for the season.
Wide Receiver
Ja'Marr Chase just needed some home cooking! Much like Joe Burrow, he dominated back in the Bayou going for 7-132-2 which made him WR1 on the Week. Chase managers have been waiting for a performance like this and he's been too consistently not good enough the previous four weeks. Will this be the spark he needs to tear through the rest of the year?
Elite WR1s that have elite target share stand out. WR1 Ja'Marr Chase (10 targets - 28.70 points), WR2 Stefon Diggs (13 targets - 25.80 points), WR3 Tyreek Hill (15 targets - 25.70 points) dominated Week 6. They are making fantasy managers that spent a 1st or 2nd Round pick on them very happy.
Tight Ends
Mark Andrews (21.10 points) and Travis Kelce (15.20 points) continue to reward fantasy managers who valued their production over all others. They finished TE2 and TE3 with only Mike Gesicki, who needed multiple TDs to pass them with 21.90 points.
Robert Tonyan is a name to watch with 12 targets in Week 6 turning 10 of them into catches for 90 yards and finished as TE5. He's averaging just under 6 targets/game and because he's a TD guy, that gives him a legitimate shot to be an every week must-start guy if you don't have one of the big two TEs.
